Materials Lab Workshop: Modern Relics with Artist Duo MOSH

Materials Lab Workshop: Modern Relics with Artist Duo MOSH

Join Harvard Art Museums for a hands-on workshop with artist duo Suzanne Moseley and Adrienne Shishko (MOSH), with two sessions offered Sunday, Apr. 28. Create small 3D sculptures using beeswax, upcycled containers, and other materials. The artists will talk about the work they do to bring awareness to waste streams and their impact on the environment. They’ll also share how the lessons they have learned from their collaboration can be applied to solving environmental issues together. Planned around Earth Day and to coincide with Harvard’s university-wide ARTS FIRST Festival, the workshop is an opportunity to consider how the topic of waste streams will define this time period to future generations, and how everyone can contribute to global environmental challenges through a more creative engagement with all that we consume.

Materials are included in the $15 fee, but participants may also bring one or two containers from their own personal waste stream, such as plastic bottles, aluminum soda cans, and detergent or milk containers. These vessels will be the starting point for creating a “modern relic.” The hands-on session will take place in the Materials Lab on the Lower Level. Registration is required and space is limited. Materials fee must be paid to confirm registration. Minimum age of 14; previous experience is not required.
